Lisa's personal story enables teens to open up and talk about any issues that they may be dealing with including, domestic violence and sexual violence at home or at school. This in turn helps to provide school counselors and teachers to engage in an open dialogue with the teens in order to help them helpful resources and healing.

Lisa travels to veterans organizations, schools, universities and community organizations, sharing her A Write to Heal Writing Program and presenting her one woman performance. Her writing program was offered as a credited course to advocates attending the Fifth Annual New Jersey Coalition for Battered Women Conference. Lisa's highly publicized assault and personal story of survival offers others a way to address the sensitive issues surrounding violence and trauma.
Military men and women bond with Lisa as she openly shares how she was able to overcome her struggles with anxiety, depression and PTSD.
High school teens find Lisa very relatable. As a result, trauma survivors who have never spoken to anyone else about the violence they've experienced, often open up to Lisa. The healing process for survivors of violence is a difficult and painful one. It’s often hard to articulate the mixed feelings that remain as a result of the traumatic experience. By implementing the A Write to Heal writing program in an organization, survivors are given a chance to continue to benefit long after Lisa's presentation ends.
